I have over 18 years of experience providing community support and counseling to youth, adults, and families.  My style is laidback and casual, because my goal is for you to feel comfortable being open and honest with me about your challenges, but my approach is grounded in the latest research on what treatments are the most effective for your specific needs. I keep us focused on getting the results you want. I have intensive training in dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), trauma-focused cognitive behavioral therapy (TF-CBT), narrative therapy, family systems interventions, and LGBTQ-affirming therapy, with specific training and experience working with transgender, gender-nonbinary, bisexual/pansexual, and asexual individuals.

Many of my clients come to me having tried traditional therapy and feeling like they failed. I use treatments that are proven to be effective for people who have tried other therapies and are still struggling. The focus is always on how to make treatment work for you. A lot of my clients have also struggled to find someone who understands their gender identity or sexual orientation. You won't need to educate me about your identity!

I have given professional presentations and trainings across Ventura County and Los Angeles County on topics ranging from advocacy and treatment for LGBTQ+ youth, suicide prevention, and trauma. I weave humor and personal stories into every topic, while also giving my attendees practical ideas for how to apply the science of psychology to their everyday life and work.
